PennHIP Radiographs

PennHIP Radiographs

Introducing our specialised services in measuring and interpreting hip joint status to reduce the frequency and severity of hip dysplasia in our beloved pets.

In 2024, Dr Kim Maitland joined a worldwide network of veterinarians who are certified to perform the PennHIP radiographs.

This method has proven to be the most accurate predictor of whether your dog has hip dysplasia AND their likelihood of developing osteoarthritis later in life.

Using cutting-edge techniques, we perform radiographs with three views:

* the hip extended view
* the distracted view
* the compression view

These specific views allow expert veterinary radiologists, backed by a worldwide database, to obtain accurate and precise measurements of your pet’s hip laxity and congruity. With this we can more accurately diagnose and manage hip dysplasia.

But that's not all - the procedure also assesses the existence of osteoarthritis in the hip joint. This helps us understand the complete picture of your pet's condition and allows us to provide them with the best possible care.

Is your furry friend experiencing discomfort due to hip dysplasia? We're here to help!
